Support Lung Health: Join Our Cycling Initiative

Latest News | 0 comments

Dear friends and colleagues,

My name is David Motel from The WriteLight Group and Lancing Light, LLC. I am inspired by my friend Churchill Elangwe from Mbingo Mountain Coffee, who has experienced the loss of family members to lung disease. This has motivated me to participate in the Trek Across Maine with the American Lung Association to raise awareness and support for lung health.

Participating in the Trek Across Maine, I embarked on a scenic journey that began and concluded at the picturesque Thomas Point Beach & Campground in Brunswick. The adventure spanned multiple days, with each segment of the ride culminating in a welcoming overnight halt at Bates College in Lewiston and St. Joseph’s College in Standish. These stops offered not just a respite but also an opportunity to indulge in the various activities, entertainment, and culinary delights that are integral to the Trek experience.

The event’s backbone is its 600+ strong volunteer force, ensuring comprehensive support throughout. These dedicated individuals are stationed at strategic rest stops and intersections, offering encouragement, managing traffic, and contributing to a spirited atmosphere at the finish line. Additionally, local bike shops generously donate their expertise, ensuring that our bicycles are as enduring as our spirits on this exhilarating journey.
What is the Trek Across Maine?

Lung disease, including lung cancer, asthma, and emphysema, is a significant health issue, being the third leading cause of death in the United States.

Your support, whether personal or corporate, would greatly contribute to this cause. Donations are tax-deductible and help fund important lung health initiatives.

Thank you for your consideration.

Warm regards,

David Motel
